First the basic facts, My name is Carolyn Kisler. I am married to Terry Kisler, who is a pastor. We have been married 48 years…yeah! a long time, but believe me not without conflict and even a few “breaking points” along the way. My commitment to Christ began when I was a child, but alas like so many, I wandered around in the wilderness of my own making for many years. Still, He continued to bless me, with 3 children and now 8 grandchildren, with an education, with discipline, which like any rebellious child I DID NOT APPRECIATE AT THE TIME! In the early 1980s, pounded almost senseless with my own sin, I heard the voice of God at a moment of desperation, “Be Still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10.
I renewed my faith in Him, and became ravenous for His word and His people. In a small group Bible Study that we hosted in our home, He called 2 to be missionaries and my husband to prepare for pastoral ministry. I felt called to support him in that ministry and searched for ways to do that, since God did not choose to make me a musician. And so over the years in pastoral ministry, I have prayed, taught, wrote programs, etc. I have learned pastoral ministry is painful and wonderful almost in the same breath, and yea there have been both “breaking points” and “braking points”.
If I have a ministry, I believe it is to help those in ministry or ministry support roles to SURVIVE by “Braking” to reflect, pray, and receive from The Lord and each other. I am new at this blogging stuff, but would love to have anyone join me for the ride.
And remember, “Christ in you, the Hope of Glory”
